[Autumn Open Week] “Approaching Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College” 2017 Autumn Open Week Got Opened

The leaders of the College, including Zhu Weicai, Shi Lingming, Zhang Xiang, Yang Xu, Yang Yi, Lin Ruosen and Ju Hongxia, and nearly two hundred representatives at all levels from the relevant governmental authorities, news media, examinations authority of the prefecture-level city, enterprises, high schools, secondary vocational schools, schoolfellows, correspondence teaching schools and students at school attended the ceremony.

President Shi Lingming said in his speech that, in recent years, under the leadership and guidance of higher authorities at all levels and with the care and help of all sectors of society, the College implemented in depth the development strategy of “taking the lead in the world, upgrading the connotation and simultaneously promoting six practices to build a well-known higher vocational college with distinctive characteristics”, took the initiative to be integrated into the local economic and social development and actively promoted the connotation construction. In such a way, the comprehensive strength of the College got significantly enhanced, with obviously improved conditions for school running and remarkably boosted reputation. The College was listed among the top 100 national demonstration higher vocational schools and the top 50 model higher vocational schools of innovation and entrepreneurship in China, awarded as the advanced unit in innovation and entrepreneurship education among the higher vocational schools in China, listed among the fifth batch of technology transfer demonstration institutions at autonomous region level, and awarded the honorary title of advanced unit in employment and entrepreneurship among the universities and colleges in the whole district for successive 17 years and other honorary titles. In the ranking list of competitiveness of junior colleges in China in 2016-2017, Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College was ranked the 27^th in China and the 1^st in Guangxi Province, playing a good demonstration and leading role in this field.

Over the past few years, Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College focused on the key and difficult points, identified the breakthrough points, seized the high ground, made extraordinary efforts and thus obtained treasured achievements that came from the hard work of all staff and students of the College, and more from the forces of all sectors of society. At present, our internationalized school operation has been promoted in all aspects by drawing upon the experience gained on key points. We have comprehensively introduced international advanced vocational education standards, taken the initiative to carry out overall domestic and foreign strategic cooperation with the international renowned enterprises, such as LiuGong Group and SGMW, and successively established “LiuGong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center” and “SGMW-LVTC New Energy Vehicle Development Service Center”, helped the enterprises accomplish talent reserves for internationalized strategies, assisted the Chinese enterprises to go out and served the “The Belt and Road” construction. Our connotation has been upgraded to form a featured brand. We have successively set up a large number of national and autonomous-region-level branded majors, courses and practical training bases. The number of patents applied and authorized has ranked the top among higher vocational colleges in Guangxi. It is the higher vocational college with the most number of teaching teams and famous teachers at national and autonomous region levels in Guangxi.

The activity of “Autumn Open Week” enables all guests to have an access to the campus, classrooms and practical training bases, thereby getting an inside glimpse of achievements, features, upward and positive performance of teachers and students, and outstanding contributions in service industry development. It also shows the practical experience of the College in educational and teaching reform, enables all guests to appreciate the charm of vocational education in the course of experiencing, sensing and recognizing the vocational education, so as to further make concerted efforts to better promote the development of vocational education, thereby providing powerful help and support for Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College to realize the vision of becoming a respectable and renowned higher vocational college.

Cheng Zhuo, a researcher of Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, affirmed our achievements and our contributions to the local economy in recent years in his speech, hoped people from all sectors of society to always concern about the development of vocational education in Liuzhou and support all reforms and development of Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College, and also wished Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College to continuously take the initiative to explore new ways to comprehensive education reform on the basis of “demonstration in management, reform and development”, and strive to compose a more brilliant chapter in the new wave of vocational education reform and development.

Professor Zhang Xiang, a researcher at deputy department level, released the annual quality report of higher vocational education talents cultivation of our college (2016-2017), which comprehensively presented the good situation that our talents cultivation quality has been improved year by year in recent years.

Vice President Lin Ruosen announced the list of winners and expressed gratitude to 20 excellent cooperative enterprises, 9 secondary vocational schools, 14 senior high schools and 7 correspondence teaching schools which have supported, helped and cared about the development of Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College for years. The leaders presented the prizes one by one to the representatives of the 50 winners mentioned above.

After the ceremony, the guests visited several projects, including the schooling achievements exhibition, industrial robot training base and LiuGong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center.

The theme of the Autumn Open Week is to show the characteristics of Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College, run the college to the satisfaction of the people and promote the development of vocational education. The time of the open week is from November 22-28. All guests may visit and get a glance of the school at Shewan Campus and Guantang Campus.

12 activities in 7 modules, i.e. theme forum, academic seminar, teaching achievements exhibition, schoolfellow activity, college-enterprise cooperation symposium, student innovation and entrepreneurship activity and Boya quality lecture, are provided during the open week. Guests may choose the activities that they are interested in according to their needs.
