Teachers and Students from Liuzhou No. 6 Middle School, No. 1 Vocational and Technical School and No. 2 Vocational and Technical School Visited LVTC to Experience “Vocational Education Activity Week”

News from News Center (Text by Zhou Jing from Educational Affairs and Training Management Office, Photos by Zhou Jing and Qin Huizhe from Educational Affairs and Training Management Office, Lu Lu from Admission Office and Yan Haoning from No. 6 Middle School) From May 13 to 23, 2019, the College invited teachers and students from Liuzhou No. 6 Middle School, No. 1 Vocational and Technical School and No. 2 Vocational and Technical School to visit the Guantang Campus and Shewan Campus respectively and participate in relevant activities, in response to the call of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to welcome the 2019 Vocational Education Week.

On Shewan Campus, 136 teachers and students from Liuzhou No. 6 Middle School and No. 1 Vocational and Technical School were divided into three groups to pay the visit. The first group of 40 teachers and students visited our Advanced Manufacturing Training Factory, participating in the teaching and research activity named “Experience Lean Production”. The second group of 64 teachers and students participated in the "Enter Aviation Cabin" activity organized by LVTC & High Flying Education School affiliated to LVTC and visited the training place of School of Art. The third group of 32 teachers and students visited the laboratories and testing company of School of Environmental and Food Engineering and the training places of School of Electronic Information Engineering.

In the Advanced Manufacturing Training Factory, our teachers arranged training work for the students, instructed them to wear labor protection articles and conducted operation training after making an overall introduction to the Factory. The students were able to operate accurately in the two cabling simulations. At the conclusion of the activity, they said that through this experience they knew more about the management and construction mode of modern advanced enterprises and had a new understanding of automobile assembly.

In LVTC & High Flying Education School, our students demonstrated their solid professional knowledge, excellent cabin operation skills and professional aviation service, which enabled visitors to know more about aviation service and the basic functions of the training base while experiencing the teaching mode of vocational education on modern aviation. The activities also provided an opportunity for the students of LVTC & High Flying Education School to learn more and practice their professional skills, conducive to transforming the theoretical knowledge from textbooks into practical operation skills.

In the training place of School of Art, the students visited other training bases like clothing studio, wax-dyeing and tie-dyeing base as well as building and environmental art training room, and they showed great interest in the teaching process.

At the training bases of School of Environmental and Food Engineering, the visitors, under the introduction of Huang Ning, dean of the School, had a preliminary understanding of the learning direction and specific learning contents of all majors, while observing and understanding the use and operation methods of advanced instruments in the industry.

At the training base of School of Electronic Information Engineering, the teachers and students visited advanced telecommunication equipment and experienced the charm of VR equipment.

Four training bases of three schools on Guantang Campus were opened for the public, namely, the “Industrial Robot Training Base” and “Digital Manufacturing Training Base” of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the “LiuGong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center” of School of Automotive Engineering and the financial integration training base of School of Finance and Logistics Management. On May 20 and 23, the visitors, which consisted of 70 teachers and students from No. 6 Middle School, 132 students from No. 1 Vocational and Technical School and 121 students from No. 2 Vocational and Technical School, were divided into four groups to visit those places with the guide of our volunteers.

We arranged relevant teachers to introduce our training bases. Looking at the different things from their regular study life, the visiting students were in high spirits and attracted by the surroundings. Under the permission of our teachers, they took pictures to record unfamiliar things with their phones, like the whole construction machinery and various huge parts, all kinds of smart movements made by the robot’s manipulator and automatic arm.

This wonderful and professional experience with well organization achieved the purpose of popularizing education by combining education with entertainment and was highly praised by the participants. Through the experience, the students learned about our excellent teaching resources and advanced training bases, enriched their spare time and broadened their learning horizons. Meanwhile, they knew the basic functions of the training bases and had a preliminary understanding of the modern vocational education mode and the development of industrial technology. More importantly, they also made a new target themselves for the college entrance examination in the coming year. Leading teachers of all schools expressed that they were looking forward to organizing students to participate in our activities next year.
