News from News Center (Text by Shi Yudan from Publicity Department of Party Committee, Photos by Zhu Jingming from Publicity Department of Party Committee) In the morning of September 19, 2019, the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition was held in Guangxi Polytechnic of Construction. Tang Xianjin, the Director-General, and Huang Xiongbiao, the Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of the Guangxi Autonomous Region, visited the booth of our College; Shi Lingming, the President of our College, attended the opening ceremony. In the afternoon of the same day, Lin Ruosen, Vice President of our College and the relevant department heads attended the “China-ASEAN Border Vocational Education Forum and Annual Meeting” and the expert seminar and dialogue; Ju Hongxia, Vice President of our College went to the booth of our College to guide the work.

In the morning of September 20, the “2019 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition Forum” was held in Nanning College for Vocational Technology. Shi Lingming made a keynote speech titled “Deepening the Cooperative Cultivating of Students by Schools and Enterprises, and Supporting the Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative”, highlighting our College’s achievements, social influence and experience in the cooperation between school and enterprises. He then attended the subsequent dialogue with 7 domestic and foreign guests on the integration between industries and education.

At the meeting, some participants asked Shi Lingming: “Under the vision of building a shared-future community of vocational education, how can Guangxi and ASEAN nations achieve joint training and coordinated development among schools?” Shi Lingming replied: “This is a problem faced by all of us. LVTC is also cooperating with ASEAN nations. In fact, we are more focused on enterprises’ strategy of going global. Our cooperation with LiuGong is an example. During LiuGong’s business development in countries along the Belt and Road, it needs to cooperate with a lot of local companies. We focus on the Enterprise’s strategy of going global and set up our centers along with the Enterprise’s presence, and then carry out relevant trainings. In the process of training, it is very difficult to rely only on the school; we hope that we could jointly carry out the training of students, the cultivation of teachers and the reciprocal output of standards together with local schools. And enterprises must not be omitted in this process. Without enterprises, we may have difficulty achieving the goals we want to achieve.”

In this joint exhibition with more than ten vocational colleges, our College has exhibited two booths, one is the digital twins technology and the other is AI response face tracking platform (car).

Our teachers and students’ digital twins technology project has won the national first prize on the“CNC Digital Twins – Virtual Debugging Project” in the national finals of the 2019“Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Competition. 

The AI response face tracking platform (car) is a service-oriented robot platform that provides services in diverse situations, using the world’s most advanced speech recognition and semantic understanding technology and the face recognition and tracking-by-machine-vision technology. It provides rich localized services based on the conversational AI technology which can both listen and speak. It has functions like checking the weather, finding food, telling stories, telling jokes, searching information, watching movies, listening to music, and various intelligent hardware controls to realize standard or customized services.

The exhibition and forum is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and hosted by the Guangxi Education Department. The theme of the event is “Mutual Exchange and Learning, Win-win Cooperation, Building a Shared Community of Vocational Education” and the mode of the event is “Forum, Exhibition, Dialogue and Sharing”. The 2019 exhibition and forum is an implementation of the Nanning Declaration of the 2017 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum. Compared with the previous four forums, the 2019 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum more emphasizes building a vocational education cooperation platform with countries along the “Belt and Road”, strengthening China-ASEAN vocational education exchanges and cooperation, building a vocational education channel for the “Belt and Road” community, and promoting the reform and development of vocational education in various countries, and in so doing, supporting the construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative to promote common prosperity.
