June 17-18, 2021, the “2021 High-Quality Development Summit of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry” was jointly sponsored by Publicity Department of Liuzhou Municipal CPC Committee, Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Liuzhou Education Bureau and Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College, presented by Liuzhou Luosifen industry college, and co-sponsored by Liuzhou Luosifen Association, Guangxi Zhongliu Food Technology Co., Ltd and Guangxi weiai Digital Technology Co., Ltd. The opening ceremony of the summit was presided over by President Gan Jinming.

Zhang Zhuang, Mayor of Liuzhou Municipal People's government, made the remarks in his opening speech on June 17, Liuzhou Luosifen embraces reputation nationwide with its local characteristics. Also, Luosifen is the national intangible cultural heritage which light up the Liuzhou city and embody the distinctive local culture and the spirit of “openness, pioneer, innovation and resilience”. In recent years, Liuzhou municipal party committee and municipal government have issued numbers of guidance policies to promote traditional snack of Luosifen with the industrialized concept, and Luosifen has achieved the transformation from “a kind of traditional snack” into “a huge industry”. At present, all Liuzhou people are studying the significant speech given by General Secretary Xi during his visit to Guangxi and Liuzhou, especially the implement of the high-quality development of Liuzhou Luosifen industry, and transforming it into a strong power for development, and we should speed up the optimization, upgrading and high-quality development of Liuzhou Luosifen. Zhang Zhuang said that this summit has offered a splendid platform for development of Luosifen industry, and four expectations were raised for the summit: The first is to improve the product quality; the second is to enlarge the industry; the third is to make the whole industry chain stronger; and the forth, strengthen the featured brand.

In the opening session, Xie Hua'an, of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and plant genetic breeder, delivered a speech entitled "Building a modern agricultural ‘stable employment’, empowering the ‘traditional snack’ with science and technology”, in which he argued that the modern industry should be took as a solid foundation, joint efforts of enterprises, universities and research institutes should be made, and talents should be introduced and nurtured to promote scientific and technological innovation, create and improve the standards of the whole industry chain, build a strong chain, cast a strong brand, and make Luosifen industry stronger and better. Serving as a scientific and technological worker in the field of hybrid rice, he and his team have the responsibility and willingness to contribute to the development of Liuzhou Luosifen specialty industry.

Liu Zilin, secretary of the Party Committee of our university pointed out that, the purpose of this summit is to study the significant speech given by Xi during his visit to Guangxi, especially the important instruction on the high-quality development of Liuzhou Luosifen industry. We should consider the actual development of Liuzhou Luosifen as the basis, depend on the new period of development, implement the new concept, integrate in the new landscape and bring together the energy and ingenuity of many communities in society, so as to research and discuss the critical issues of development of Luosifen industry, and to push the high-quality development of the industry.
