From the News Center (Text & Pictures by Nong Peiying from School of Trade and Tourism Management) In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee and the Party and the state’s care for students from families with financial difficulties, LVTC has deepened the campaign "staying true to the founding mission" and took the mass line and core socialist values in practice. Furthermore, the college tried its best to learn more about the students from the impoverished family so as to give them more accurate assistance.

From July 21st to 22nd, 2021, Guo Li, secretary of the Party branch of the School of Trade and Tourism Management, took a three-member team of a student leader and a counselor to Dajingtou Village, Zhemu Town, Yanshan District, Guilin and Tieling Village, Yangshuo, carrying out 2021 Summer Visits to Families in Financial Difficulties and sending solatium to the poor students and their families.

During the visit, the team had in-depth conversations with the parents and publicized the party and state funding policies, introducing the development of the school. They also learned more about the impoverished family, including their family situations, living conditions and economic sources and offered them solatium.

Meanwhile, Guo Li encouraged students to carry forward the spirit of self-reliance and study hard to complete their studies. She hoped that they could face the difficulties in life bravely, live a happy life, and pay back their parents, school, and society in the future.

The aided students said that they would keep the teachings of the school in mind in future study and life, living up to the ardent expectations of the school and family, studying diligently to cultivate their talents as soon as possible.

The warm care of the school also touched the parents . Hearing the progress and growth of their children in the school, they also expressed sincere gratitude and insisted that they should resolutely support the work of the school, looking forward to the success of the students and encouraging them to pay back the school and society.

Home visits and solatium for students in need is a long-term work of LVTC. It is an important measure to implement student funding policies, build the home-school linkage platform and practice educational funding.

The visits have enhanced the connection between the school and the family. It is also an effective explorations on how to promote the cooperation of both parties, which provide a foundation for the in-depth and precise poverty identification and assistance.
