From News Center (Text by Ren Yijing, Office of the Party Committee,General  Office, photos by LVTC Convergent Media Center) On July 22, 2021, Zhu Yongxin, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of CAPD, led a group of 16 people to LVTC for inspection and research, holding a symposium on Liuzhou vocational education and related issues.

Relevant personnels from the CAPD Guangxi District Committee, the CAPD Liuzhou Municipal Committee, the Municipal Party Committee Office, the Municipal Party Committee United Front Work Department, the Municipal Party Committee Education Working Committee, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau accompanied the investigation and attended the symposium.

Representatives from Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College, Liuzhou City Vocational College, Liuzhou No.1 Vocational Technical School, Liuzhou No. 2 Vocational Technical School, Liuzhou Transportation School, Secretary of the Party Committee of LVTC, and President Gan Jinming accompanied the inspection, attended the symposium and made a speech.

The research group first paid a visit to Guantang campus of LVTC, including the T4 SGMW Smart Car Training Center, SAIC Volkswagen Guangxi Training Center, Liugong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center and T5 Engineering Practice Center. After that, a research symposium was held in the T1D-201 conference room. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Qihe, the Deputy Minister of the CAPD Central Committee.

At the meeting, Zhang Zhiyong, director of the Education Committee of CAPD, firstly introduced the purpose of the survey, which was mainly to carry out two researches, namely, the Development of Vocational Education in Poor Western Region and Reducing the Development Gap between Urban and Rural Areas, Promoting the Equalization of Educational Public Services. Both researches are committed to better narrowing the gap in regional development and promoting the comprehensive development of vocational education in impoverished areas in the west.

Then, Pan Xuyang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Municipal Education Bureau, introduced the basic situation of Liuzhou’s current vocational education and the difficulties faced in its development. The first one is low cultivation level and small vocational education scale, which cannot follow Liuzhou’s economic and urban development. The second one is that in the construction of national pilot cities in integration between industry and education, enterprises still have a low participation.

Deng Wei, a level-2 researcher of the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, also introduced the current situation of Liuzhou’s vocational education.

Heads of the vocational schools made speeches on the running situation of their schools, their characteristics, difficulties and their feeling and thinking about vocational education.

Liu Zilin, secretary of the party committee of LVTC, introduced that in recent years, under the leadership and strong support of party committees and governments in all respects, LVTC has attained numerous achievements, developing unique characteristics and brands.

However, compared with the counterparts in the developed central and eastern regions and high demands of vocational education in the new era, there is still a certain gap in high-quality development.

In the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, LVTC will consciously assume the historical mission of a powerful country with excellent vocational education, earnestly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches for vocational education, continuously improve the level and quality of running a school, actively serve the local high-quality economic and social development and cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents, skilled craftsmen, and artisans of great powers, making greater contributions to accelerating the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and magnificent Guangxi in a new era.

Finally, Zhu Yongxin made a concluding speech, affirming Liuzhou’s current achievements in the integration and development of vocational education and local industries. Meanwhile, he put forward opinions and suggestions on how to optimize the vocational education system and how to narrow the gap between the east and the west.

He emphasized that Liuzhou is an industrial city with a long history, and as the only national pilot city for industry-education integration in Guangxi, vocational schools in Liuzhou must learn to seize opportunities, effectively deepen industry-education integration, promote education, talent and industry chains, the deep integration and organic connection of the innovation chain , making the vocational education of Liuzhou develop in a more healthy and rapid way.
