Good News: Students of LVTC Won the First Prize in the Cross-strait College Students Vocational Skills Competition

The sand table team of KAB Entrepreneurship Club, consisting of Lu Jinghua (enrolled in 2020, Environmental Engineering Technology Class 1), Huang Yuhe (enrolled in 2020, Industrial Design Class 1), and Tan Jinling (enrolled in 2020, Environmental Engineering Technology Class 1), formed a team named Flying Dream. After hard training, they won the first prize in the final of the 8th Cross-Strait Student Vocational Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Education Group) under the guidance of their instructors, Professor Xu Ming, and Associate Professor Pan Feng.
The 8th Cross-Strait College Vocational Skills Competition started on December 3, 2021, and came to a perfect conclusion on December 5, 2021. The competition attracted 1,411 cross-strait colleges and universities, including 866 universities, 531 higher vocational colleges, and 14 secondary vocational schools. There were 11 colleges and universities, 2,633 teams, 8,128 students, and 2,717 instructors from Taiwan (China) participating in the competition, which was the largest scale ever.
Since the competition was held, it has built an all-round exchange and integration cooperation platform for enterprises, universities, and students across the Taiwan Strait with the skills competition as a carrier. Besides, it has deepened cross-strait integration and development, promoted cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, advanced mass innovation and entrepreneurship, promoted the high-quality development of higher education, and accelerated the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents. The competition provided students from different colleges and universities with opportunities to compete and to learn from each other, which helped deepen students' understanding and application of professional knowledge and cultivate their teamwork and innovation spirit, and comprehensive abilities.
It was a competition to assess both students' individual abilities and the ability to work on a team and a concrete realization of promoting learning through competition. The competition not only assessed the innovation knowledge but also the ability to transform the innovation knowledge into practical activities and innovative thinking. Although the competition lasted a short time, it would be the starting point for young college students in the new era to achieve their innovative and entrepreneurial dreams. "Entrepreneurship is infinite, and youth is promising"!
