LVTC Communist Youth League Committee Receives Commendations for Excellence

From News Center (Text /Photos by the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee) On April 15, the Guangxi Committee of the Communist Youth League released evaluations of the work of Guangxi's Communist Youth Leagues in 2021. The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee won the highest honor of "Excellent". Previously, the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee won the highest honor of "Good" according to the "Evaluation and Feedback on Key Work of Liuzhou's Communist Youth Leagues in 2021" released by the Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League on March 30, ranking first among similar organizations in the city (Communist Youth League Committees of universities and colleges run by Liuzhou).

"The youth play a decisive role in our work!" In a satisfaction survey conducted by LVTC in 2021, the satisfaction rate of LVTC students with the work of the Communist Youth League Committee increased from 79.91% in 2020 to 81.63% in 2021, ranking among the top across the school. In addition, LVTC granted the committee the high-quality development award of "Ingenious Service Award 2021" at the end of 2021. Under the strong leadership of the CPC LVTC Committee, the guidance of the higher-level league organizations and the joint efforts of LVTC staff and students, the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee continues to win the satisfaction of the CPC LVTC Committee, the LVTC administration, the Guangxi Prefecture Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the LVTC students.

Highlights in Party History Learning and Services

To meet the requirements for Party history learning, the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee earnestly carried out the "Party history learning, Party faith strengthening" activities. It has held over ten large events at the school level, including the LVTC Youth Song Festival Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, the LVTC Variety Show Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, and the "Feiyang Cup" Party and Youth League Knowledge Contest, which have been reported by media at and above the municipal level for nearly 10 times. The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee produced an MV to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and participate in the performance at the school's July 1st Commendation Conference. It organized Party history learning activities that involved 169,200 members of all youth league branches.

The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee focuses on serving the masses "pragmatically". During the summer "Services for the Countryside" social practice event, it dispatched eight teams to eight villages in Dudong Town, Sanjiang County, and served more than 4,000 people. This event served the masses the most extensively, pragmatically, satisfactorily and efficiently. The eight teams were selected as the "Colorful Holiday" project teams by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and two teams were rated as key teams in the prefecture. The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee won the title of "Excellent Organization across the Prefecture" for the third consecutive year, as well as "Excellent Team" and "Brand Project". It organized nearly 200 students to return home and work as rural revitalization assistants and received 43 research reports. It organized two teams to carry out practical activities in the Guangxi "Green Space" in Tengxian, Wuzhou and Rong'an County.

It inaugurated the launching ceremony of the Liuzhou 2021 third "Little Bauhinia" Youth Public Welfare Volunteer Culture Festival and provided volunteers for the 2021 second China-ASEAN (Liuzhou) Tourism Equipment Expo, winning the title of "Excellent Volunteer Service Provider" for multiple times. It organized online and offline volunteer services to fight COVID-19, learn from Lei Feng, "protect the mother river", give mutual assistance, practice economy, and beautify the campus. It organized two on-campus blood donations which involved 3,661 blood donors and a total blood donation of 1,057,780ml, setting a new record in the annual blood donation at LVTC. The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee became a municipal-level youth volunteer service demonstration base in 2021 and won honors such as Excellent Liuzhou Youth Volunteer Service Organization in 2020. It organizes drug control and AIDS prevention among youths and offers education about the rule of law, holding 18 activities of various kinds. 5,644 students participated in the activities and obtained second-class credits.

It built the "Youth Home" & Youth League Organization Activity Center on the Guantang Campus, covering an area of about 3,500 square meters. It completed the renovation of the first floor of Dali Building, basically restored the functions of the auditorium in Area B and repaired the auxiliary building of the auditorium, and increased the the size of activity venue by about 3,500 square meters. It effectively eased the shortage of "second-class" activity places. In addition to COVID-19 prevention and control, it carried out a number of campus cultural and sports activities which include nearly 10 large-scale cultural activities at the school level such as the 17th Society Culture and Art Festival and the Themed Variety Show, and more than 20 colorful small and medium-sized cultural and sports activities at the school level such as Cultivating Patriotism, LVTC's Celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Society Culture Little Square Weekend.

Remarkable Work in Ideological Publicity

The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee continues to focus on collective youth study as the starting point for work in the Communist Youth League. It continues to foster value in students and sets full participation in online youth league classes as the threshold for evaluation and promotion. It makes every effort to hold activities. Nearly 16,000 youth league members attend the online youth league class of "Collective Learning of Party History" every week, ranking among the top six in the prefecture and first among the universities in Liuzhou in terms of learning rate. The learning rate is currently well above 180%.

It continues to run the youth Marxism project at the university and school levels, establishing eight youth Marxism schools at the two levels and training 988 students who account for 5.8% of the total number of the students. It extensively carries out various training activities. The youth Marxism school students have participated in the 17th "Challenge Cup" Special Red Event, the "Party History Learning, Party Faith Strengthening" Youth League Day Event & New Member Inauguration Ceremony, the "Return to Hometown" Social Practice, the "I Empower the Nation" Youth Lecturers Group Exemplary Session, and the study tour to Liugang Group. At the same time, it dispatched one outstanding student to the prefecture's youth Marxism school in strict accordance with the spirit of relevant documents.

It strengthens the construction of Youth League publicity positions, increases manpower for the Youth Media Center of the Communist Youth League Committee, and continues to improve new media platforms such as Weibo, WeChat, Douyin and Bilibili. In the monthly ranking of the influence of new media accounts of college youth leagues across the prefecture, the Weibo account of the university's Communist Youth League Committee took second place multiple times. It ramps up publicity work. In 2021, it published more than 50 news articles on off-campus media outlets such as People's Daily, China News Network, Chinese Volunteers, Chinese Youth Volunteers and China Youth Online.

It produced 25 positive-energy videos, such as the LVTC MV for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 2021 graduation video "Maker". The Weibo account of the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee released nearly 300 pieces of information and opened the "Knowledge about Party History" column which received 85,000 views. A total of 71 works have been released on its Douyin and Bilibili accounts. One single production was streamed for up to 84,000 times, and all the productions were streamed for a total of over 174,000 times. A totoal of 121 articles were published on its WeChat platform, which have been read by over 36,000 online readers. It solicited productions from the graduating students under the title of "My LVTC, My Youth" and organized the "Party History Learning, Party Faith Strengthening" Activity to tap into the online creativity of the youth league members.

Party Building Enhanced the Quality of Grassroots Organizations

The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee spares no effort to build an "Intelligent Youth League". It works in strict accordance with the requirements of its higher-ups, has completed the transfer of youth league membership credentials and information input, and successfully completed all its tasks. 100% of the information regarding youth league members and organizations has been input into the computer system, and all the serial numbers of new youth league members have been documented. In addition, the "society linkage rate" and the "continuing studies rate" reach 100%. It documented the internal incentives of 407 youth league organizations on the campus and ranked the work of 267 league branches. It well documented the learning of the Party history.

The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee continues to boost its own quality. It thoroughly studies the requirements of higher authorities on "the promotion of excellent cases", formulated detailed rules in line with the actual situation of the university, and jointly issued and implemented the document with the Organization Department of the CPC LVTC Committee. In 2021, 1,005 activists were recommended to join the party, with a promotion rate of 100%. It gives full play to the strength of college league organizations, and carries out joint building efforts with the "Youth Home" of Fengqi Community and Longqingyuan Community of Liuzhou.

It further consolidates the effectiveness of the reform of the Communist Youth League and the Student Union, and pushed through the reform of student unions at the school and college levels. It successfully passed the evaluation of the Guangxi Prefecture Committee of the Communist Youth League on the reform of Communist Youth Leagues and Student Unions in colleges and universities. It stepped up the reform of student associations. All associations have set up league branches and specified the special funds for associations. It continues to strengthen the "second-class school report" mechanism of the Communist Youth League, and works to make the management of the "second class" conform to science.

"Innovation-driven" Youth Development

The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee facilitates the development of youths based on its orientation as a higher vocational college and in accordance with the talent production requirements of the college. Guided by innovation and entrepreneurship activities, LVTC students who participated in the "Challenge Cup" Guangxi College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition won 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 7 third prizes. They participated in the 2021 Guangxi Youth Volunteer Service Public Welfare Competition and won a silver prize and an honorable mention. As one of the only three projects in Guangxi, one project was recommended to participate in the national competition. It is the first volunteer service project to be shortlisted for the national finals in the history of LVTC, which won a bronze prize.

It actively builds platforms to give support for the production of young technical talent. The LVTC Communist Youth League Committee undertook and recommended the staff and students to participate in the 2021 Guangxi Youth Vocational Skills Competition. The student participants won the first place in all the three projects and a second place; the teacher participants won the third and fifth places. Six LVTC contestants were enlisted under the prefecture's 10-member team, which participated in the 17th "Revitalization Cup" national main competition. In addition, one LVTC project was shortlisted for the national competition after the "Revitalization Cup" special competition, becoming one of the three finalists to enter the national competition. LVTC co-hosted the promotion event of the Liuzhou Luosifen Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme Design Competition in 2021.

It recommended our students to participate in the 26th Liuzhou Youth Number One Scholar Technical Competition and won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes. We participated in the 2020 Liuzhou Youth Post Science and Technology "Five Small" Competition and won two second prizes. We participated in the evaluation of young skilled talent, in which two young teachers were awarded the title of "2020 Liuzhou Young Post Experts".

Forge Ahead to Embrace the 20th National Congress

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be convened in 2022. This year will also mark the centenary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China. In this milestone year, the LVTC Communist Youth League Committee will, under the leadership of the CPC LVTC Committee, the Guangxi Prefecture Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, work around the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its spirit, follow the Party, work hard, pursue excellence, and forge ahead to contribute to the reform and development of LVTC and the growth of young people and to greet the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with concrete actions and outstanding achievements!
