CHINANEWS (Picture and text by Ma Yun and Yong Jia from Academy of Arts) On May 3, Lin Jiangtao, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Texwell Technology Co., Ltd. and the 1984-grade knitting student, donated a set of podium-wear for China’s athletes of ice and snow sports in the Beijing Winter Olympics to the Academy of Arts. The fabric of the clothes is independently developed by his company and will be displayed in the “Liuzhou Wonder” achievement exhibition of Liuzhou cultural industry development. Yong Jia, president of the Academy of Arts, Lu Jin, vice president of the Academy of Arts, Chen Dongling, deputy director of Enrollment and Employment Office and Xu Ming, executive director of the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, visited Liuzhou 772 Digital Cultural Industrial Park and attended the symposium with Lin Jiangtao.
Located in Haining in March 2000, Zhejiang Texwell Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Texwell”) is a world-famous supplier of outdoor sportswear fabrics. The Company boasts an integral process of R&D, weaving, dyeing and finishing, compounding, inspection and testing and becomes a long-term partner with famous outdoor brands like Columbia, Adidas, Decathlon, Carhartt and ANTA. In 2008, they supplied Adidas with 600,000 sets of sportswear fabrics for torchbearers around the world for the Beijing Olympic Games. In this Beijing Winter Olympics, tens of thousands of indoor podium-wears for Chinese athletes, clothes for the International Olympic Organizing Committee staff, clothes for the press corps, clothes for the accompanying runners of the Olympic torchbearers, and thermal underwear fabrics for athletes are all the ingenuity of Texwell.
At present, 5 graduates from the school are working in Texwell, among whom Jiang Yuexian and Lin Jiangtao were admitted to the knitting department in 1984. Jiang Yuexian is the CEO and Lin Jiangtao is the deputy general manager of the company; Xu Bo, admitted to the knitting department in 1985, is the deputy general manager of Zhejiang Honghai Weaving Co., Ltd. subordinated to Texwell; Su Yongsheng and Chen Qiongxiang were admitted to the knitting and mechanical departments in 1986 and 1985 separately.
At the symposium, Lin Jiangtao expressed sincere gratitude to his alma meter for its cultivation and support over the years on behalf of other alumni of the company. He hoped that the donation may develop into a contributor to the development of his alma mater. Meanwhile, he has a strong interest in the school orientation and school-enterprise cooperation and is looking forward to building more communication and cooperation platforms with the school and continue to write a new chapter. Yong Jia on behalf of the academy showed appreciation to Lin Jiangtao and expected his continuous support, valuable opinions and suggestions on the development of the school.
