Good News: Professor Zuo Nihong from LVTC Selected as the Host of the First Batch of Famous Teachers' Studios for Ideological and Political Courses in Liuzhou

News from News Center (Text and photos by Wei Xiao from School of Marxism Studies) According to the Notice on Announcement of the List of the First Batch of Famous Teachers' Studios for Ideological and Political Courses in Liuzhou (LJSZ [2022] No. 24), and after the selection and publicity by the Municipal Education Bureau, 15 teachers were identified as the hosts of the first batch of famous teachers' studios for ideological and political courses in Liuzhou, and Professor Zuo Nihong, dean of the School of Marxism Studies from LVTC, was selected.

In order to give full play to the demonstration leading and radiating role of famous teachers for ideological and political courses in Liuzhou, advance the integration of ideological and political courses among universities, primary, secondary and high schools in Liuzhou with high quality, the Municipal Education Bureau has decided to set up the first batch of 15 famous teachers’ studios for ideological and political courses in Liuzhou. The first batch of famous teachers’ studios for ideological and political courses in Liuzhou were uniformly produced and branded by the Municipal Education Bureau. At the same time, the Municipal Education Bureau will allocate 20,000 yuan for each studio every year, to be used for studio activities for a period of three years. The studio will mainly concentrate on teaching and scientific research exchanges, demonstration of excellent ideological and political courses, network platform construction, etc., comprehensively promoting the integration construction of ideological and political courses among universities, primary, secondary and  high schools in the city. The studio host is responsible for leading the team to carry out teaching research on the integration of ideological and political courses among universities, primary, secondary and high schools, exchange the results, thus playing the exemplary and leading role of famous teachers in the whole city.

LVTC is the strong supporter of  famous teachers’ studios for ideological and political courses and actively encourage teachers to apply for it. Professor Zuo Nihong was successfully selected as the host of the famous teachers’ studio after several selections by virtue of her excellent strength.

In recent years, under the unified leadership of the school Party Committee and the concerted assistance of all departments of the school, Professor Zuo Nihong has led all ideological and political teachers, to conscientiously implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the teachers' symposium concerning the ideological and political theory course, and centered on the fundamental issues of who to train, how to train and for whom to train. She holds high the banner, adheres to integrity and innovation, focuses on the fundamental task of cultivating people through virtue, and assumes the mission of casting soul and educating people. Many measures to strengthen and improve the construction of ideological and political theory courses have yielded good results. The six directly affiliated branches won the honorary titles, such as “Cultivation and Creation Unit of National Party Building Model Branch”, “Cultivation and Creation Unit of the First Batch of New Era Party Building Model Branch in Guangxi”, “Cultivation and Creation Unit of ‘Double Leader’ Teacher Party Branch Secretary in Guangxi”, the second batch of "Five-star" branches among schools and colleges in the region, excellent grass-roots party organization in Liuzhou. In 2021, it has won 1 first prize for teaching achievements both in the Guangxi and Liuzhou. Zuo Nihong was selected as a member of the teaching steering committee concerning ideological and political theory course "Ideological Morality and Rule of Law" in Guangxi from 2022 to 2025.

According to the requirements of the Notice on the Establishment of the Famous Teachers’ Studio for Ideological and Political Courses in Liuzhou (LJSZ [2022] No.3), and after the selections and publicity, 15 teachers, including Zuo Nihong, were identified as the hosts of the first batch of famous teachers' studios for ideological and political courses. The list is now published (see annex).

It is hoped that the hosts selected will actively perform their duties, take lead in carry out education and teaching research on the integration of ideological and political courses among universities, primary, secondary and high schools in Liuzhou, exchange the results and play the exemplary and leading role as the famous teachers in the whole city; at the same time, we hope that all relevant units will positively back them up to promote the innovation and development of ideological and political courses in Liuzhou.
