Five Gold and Six Silver Awards! LVTC Achieves Another Success in the Guangxi Division Trials of the 8th China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

From News Center (Written and Photo by Yuan Shiming from School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship) July 10, 2022 to July 12, 2022, the three-day Guangxi Division Trials of the 8th China International College Students "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition drew to a close at Guilin University of Technology. LVTC had 11 programs shortlisted for the on-site finals, and won 5 gold and 6 silver awards in the "Vocational Education Teams". At the same time, it won the Excellent Organization Award of "Vocational Education Teams". The number of shortlisted programs of LVTC in the finals of a single division competition hit a record high, and the number of awards ranked first among higher vocational colleges.

From July 10 to 12, during the finals, 435 program teams from more than 70 colleges and universities in Guangxi participated in the trails at Guilin. After two days of fierce competition, LVTC won five gold awards, including "'Zhidong' Technology-Pioneer of Dynamic Retardation Based on Magnetorheological Fluid Line Control" and "Liujiang Food Technology-Leader of Fully Automatic River Snail Rice Noodles Packaging Production Line" of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, "Te Si Tu-New Energy Service Provider of Intelligent IoT Automobile Aftermarket" of the School of Automotive Engineering, "Fen Qian Wei-Advanced Preservation Technology Leads the Revitalization of Characteristic Food Industry" and "Hanlin Technology-China's Leading Inheritor of Denim Washing Technology" of the KAB Entrepreneurship Club. Six programs including "Eye of Cloud Adventure-Disaster Early Warning Pioneer" won silver awards.

It is reported that a total of 770,000 people from 156,000 programs of 109 colleges and universities signed up for the competition in Guangxi Division. Compared with the previous session, the number of programs increased by 56% and the number of participants increased by 73%, both of which reached a record high. The "Internet+" competition is valued as a key event by LVTC. Since the launch of the campus competition in January this year, all Secondary Schools have actively explored excellent programs. After comprehensive coordination and active mobilization, a total of 27,420 people from 7,663 programs have signed up for the competition, with the number of programs increasing by 64% compared with last year. After the campus competition, 91 programs were finally recommended to participate in the online evaluation of the competition of Guangxi Division,11 of which entered the on-site finals.

In order to help teachers and students achieve good results in this competition, the school organized and selected nearly 200 programs in the first round of campus competition. The tutoring mode of "Professional teacher + Entrepreneurship Mentors" was adopted. The tutoring process ran through the whole preparation process at the campus and division competitions. With continuous polishing and improvement, the competitiveness of the programs and the capability of the team had been strengthened, laying a solid foundation for them to achieve excellent results.

The excellent results are another review and affirmation of LVTC's innovation and entrepreneurship education. LVTC will continue to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training, and cultivate students' spirit of daring to break through and ability of innovation.
