LVTC is Entrusted with Serving as the Thailand-Vietnam Country Working Group of China-ASEAN TVET Consortium

From News Center (Text by Zhang Jinyezi, Office of International Exchange; Photo by Guizhou News Photo Agency) In order to implement the guiding principle of the Joint Statement of the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30^th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations, the China-ASEAN TVET Consortium (hereinafter referred to as "the Consortium") was officially established at the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Opening Ceremony held in Guian New Area, Guiyang, Guizhou Province on August 23. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China, and Liu Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange, jointly unveiled the Consortium and launched the cooperation platform.

Entrusted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (hereinafter referred to as "the Association"), LVTC serves as the Thailand-Vietnam Country Working Group of the Consortium to take responsibility for the following work: Cooperate with the Association and the Executive Secretariat, and assist the Association in monitoring the quality and progress of cooperation programs between vocational colleges in China and those in Thailand and Vietnam; Focus on the common concerns in the field of vocational education in corresponding countries, organize China and ASEAN members to jointly apply for and carry out scientific research on vocational education projects, and facilitate academic exchanges, innovation and achievement transformation; Assist the Association in holding major events including the annual China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week; Assist the Association and the Executive Secretariat in organizing training and seminars, and organize exchanges on policies, practices and information; Participate in program design and advance the implementation of cooperation programs and action plans; Assist the Association in recruiting new members according to the requirements of the Consortium's articles of association.

The China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Guizhou Province, and co-organized by the China-ASEAN Centre and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization. As an important inter-governmental exchange and cooperation platform themed on education between China and ASEAN, the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week has become an important bridge for cooperation between China and ASEAN in the fields of education, science and technology, culture, health, sports, media and youth exchange. This year, LVTC acted as the co-organizer of two events, i.e. the China-ASEAN TVET Consortium Launch Ceremony, and the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Forum and Exhibition of Successful Cooperative Programs.

The China-ASEAN TVET Consortium is jointly launched by the China Education Association for International Exchange and the SEAMEO VOCTECH in collaboration with 175 China-ASEAN partners under the framework of the China-ASEAN Double Hundred Vocational School Strong Cooperation Flagship Program. It aims to establish an inter-state government-school-industry-enterprise cooperation platform between China and ASEAN, give full play to the initiative of member organizations, and share and integrate resources, thus advancing the common development of vocational education in China and other countries, promoting the construction of the China-ASEAN vocational education community, and contributing to the high-quality and sustainable regional economic and social development.
