LVTC won the Outstanding School Award of the 7th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award

From News Center (Text by Lin Aixian, United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee; Photo by Lin Aixian, United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee) On the afternoon of September 1, 2022, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee and  China Vocational Education Association, Guangxi organized a Guangxi Symposium of Winners of Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award with the theme of "Embrace the 20th National Congress of the CPC and Celebrate the Teachers' Day". Qian Xueming, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi CPPCC and Director of China Vocational Education Association, Guangxi, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Lin Zhihua, a member of the Department Affairs Commission of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee, presided over the meeting. More than 40 people attended the symposium, including representatives of members of China Vocational Education Association, Guangxi, in Nanning and representatives of Guangxi winners of Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award. Tang Donglei, Director of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of LVTC, attended the meeting and received the commendation of the Outstanding School Award of the 7th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award on behalf of LVTC.

At the symposium, Lin Zhihua conveyed the spirit of the Central Conference on United Front Work and the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping to the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference. Zhao Chengguang, Second-level Inspector of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Zhou Nanping, Director of the Vocational Capacity Building Division of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, introduced the development of vocational education and vocational capacity building in Guangxi respectively. Representatives of Guangxi winners of Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award (groups and individuals) also made keynote speeches.

Qian Xueming delivered a speech at the symposium and sent Teachers' Day wishes to the attending vocational educators in advance. He pointed out that vocational education was most closely and directly related to economic and social development, and played an irreplaceable and increasingly important role in China's economic and social development. Vocational educators shouldered the multiple tasks of teaching "knowledge", "skills" and "living philosophy" to students, which could be described as huge responsibilities and glorious missions. He also expressed the hope that all colleges and individuals who have won the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award would cherish the honor and continue to be the leader and forerunner of vocational education in Guangxi. He stressed that Guangxi had entered a critical period of promoting industrial transformation and upgrading and achieving mid- and high-end development. The CPC Committee and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region unswervingly implemented the strategy of strengthening Guangxi through industry, accelerated industrial revitalization, and promoted the high-quality development of Guangxi's industry to a new level, which put forward new requirements for the development of vocational education in Guangxi and new tasks for industry-education Integration and school-enterprise cooperation. He called on vocational educators in Guangxi to thoroughly implement the spirit of the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping to the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, strive to accelerate the high-quality development of vocational education in Guangxi, and make due contributions to building a magnificent autonomous region of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.

It is reported that Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award is the only retained national award in the field of vocational education approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and approved by the special audit of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in 2009, representing the highest honor of China's vocational education. Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award is selected every two years. Since 2007, it has been selected for 7 sessions, with a total of 265 Outstanding School Awards, 326 Outstanding Principal Awards and 619 Outstanding Teacher Awards were awarded.

For the 7th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, 55 Outstanding School Awards, 54 Outstanding Principal Awards, 103 Outstanding Teacher Awards and 5 Outstanding Contribution Awards were awarded. Two vocational colleges in Guangxi have won the Excellent School Award of the 7th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, and LVTC is the only higher vocational college in the region to receive this honor.

This award is not only a full affirmation of LVTC's achievements in talent training and education and teaching reform, but also a high recognition of LVTC's high-quality leap-forward development in recent years. Taking this as an opportunity and under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, LVTC will thoroughly study and implement the Vocational Education Law, firmly establish the vocational education concept of fostering virtue through education and educating people with both morality and skills, further promote Huang Yanpei's vocational education ideology, forge ahead to write a new chapter of vocational education in an era of great achievements and promises with common efforts, and embrace the 20th CPC National Congress with practical actions.
