LVTC Wins Two National First Prizes! Leaders Congratulate Award-winning Teachers and Students

On the afternoon of October 17, the winning team returned to LVTC and received a warm welcome and cordial congratulations from leaders of LVTC and Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau. The team of teachers and students who won the gold medal in the 8th China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition also received congratulations.
Liu Zilin, Secretary of the CPC LVTC Committee, Gan Jinming, President of LVTC, Ju Hongxia, Vice President of LVTC, Wen Jian, Deputy Director of Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, as well as persons in charge of LVTC's Teaching Affairs and Practical Training Administration Office, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Arts, and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship attended the event at the Comprehensive Service Center on the first floor of the administrative building of LVTC Shewan Campus.
The National Vocational College Skills Competition is a national comprehensive skills competition for vocational college students initiated and led by the Ministry of Education. It features the widest coverage, the largest number of participants, the greatest social impact, and the most complete set of co-hosting departments among all national-level vocational college skills competitions. Under the guidance of teachers Fan Ranran and Liu Fangping from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, students Huang Hong and Xie Qingchao faced tough opponents fearlessly and calmly. After fierce competition, they stood out among 79 teams nationwide and won the first prize in the "Mechatronics" category. In the "Visual Art Design" category, there were 71 representative teams from 31 provinces (autonomous regions) and municipalities directly under the central government. Under the guidance of teacher Long Yibiao from the School of Arts, student Chen Lihua competed fiercely and won the national first prize.
The China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is initiated by the Ministry of Education and co-hosted by governments at all levels and universities. It is an internationally top-tier competition for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship. The 8th China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition attracted more than 14.5 million participants from 111 countries and regions, with more than 3.4 million participating projects. Under the guidance of teacher Li Dongheng, LVTC's "Intelligent Technology" project team gathered 12 outstanding students from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the School of Finance and Logistics Management to win the gold medal in the Vocational Education Teams.
In the welcome activity on that day, leaders of LVTC and Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau presented flowers to award-winning students and their instructors. Liu Zilin and Gan Jinming also communicated cordially with the participating instructors and students on the site to learn more about their work, study, and life.
LVTC won two national first prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition and gold awards in the China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, marking that LVTC has made new achievements in the development of the "National Double High-level Plan", achieving better and more balanced development, which is a landmark achievement in its high-quality development. In recent years, LVTC has always focused on the construction of double high-level major clusters and given full play to its leading role in the competition of double high-level major clusters. Other majors have been rapidly improved and advanced at the same time, driving the continuous enhancement of the overall quality and efficiency of the college and promoting high-quality development in all aspects of its educational undertaking. During the three-year development period of the Double High-level Plan from 2020 to 2022, LVTC has won over 800 landmark achievements at the national and autonomous region levels, including 82 winning national awards, 161 winning first prizes or above at the autonomous region level, and 16 unique or ranking first in terms of the quantity in Guangxi's higher vocational education, making historic breakthroughs in securing gold medals in vocational college skills competitions worldwide. Meantime, during the development of the Double High-level Plan, LVTC has actively built a stage for students to demonstrate their professional abilities, tested the teaching effect and students' skill levels with targeted professional skills, and fostered a learning atmosphere of "striving to become skilled experts". Every year, LVTC organizes professional skills competitions for students, promoting an outstanding talent development model where competitions drive teaching and learning. The results of student skills competitions are remarkable. In 2023 alone, LVTC students won 6 awards in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, including 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 1 third prize. They won 53 prizes in the Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition, including 7 first prizes, 21 second prizes, and 25 third prizes. The students won 76 prizes in the Guangxi Division of the 9th China International College Students "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, including 7 gold awards, 12 silver awards, and 57 bronze awards. Honed by various competitions, the students have high comprehensive qualities and strong hands-on abilities, making them widely welcomed by employers. LVTC has been awarded the "Outstanding Institution for the Employment and Entrepreneurship of Ordinary College Graduates in Guangxi" for 22 consecutive years. After the assessment and selection conducted by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it became the only national exemplary vocational college in the region to retain this honor.
