Short Video All the Way Together—Indonesian Students' Life in Liuzhou Wins the Excellence Award of ASEAN-China "Friendship and Cooperation" Short Video Contest

Recently, the winning works of the 4th ASEAN-China "Friendship and Cooperation" Short Video Contest were announced. The short video titled All the Way Together—Indonesian Students' Life in Liuzhou shot by Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (LVTC) won the Excellence Award.

This 4-minute video tells the true story of Crisjona Manihuruk, an Indonesian college student who came to China to study and follow his dream. Drawing from his study and life in China, the video presents the life and customs of China in the eyes of foreign students.

"Here, I have made many friends. Here, all kinds of extracurricular activities have enriched my college life. Here, we travel all the way together to feel the urban charm in China..." Crisjona Manihuruk said that this video is also the most authentic record of his study in China.

Today, Crisjona Manihuruk has returned to Indonesia and joined the local company of Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. He gave himself a Chinese name, "Qiao Hui" ("Qiao" means "bridge" in English), hoping to play the role of bridge in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

"This video is not only about Qiao Hui alone, but also about the achievement of customized training for international students and the integration of industry and education in China." According to Wei Linhua, Director of LVTC's Office of International Exchange, last year, LVTC cooperated with Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), and Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ) in Indonesia to complete the first order-based training for students from the two countries, providing talent support for the international development of enterprises.

It is reported that since its official establishment in 2020, the ASEAN-China "Friendship and Cooperation" Short Video Contest has received 72,485 entries from young people from China and 10 ASEAN countries. These entries have been viewed nearly 95 million times on platforms like Weibo, Kuaishou, Facebook, and YouTube, with 300 million online comments on the subject. With the theme of "Connection for a Better Future", this contest aims to promote cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN countries through multi-form and multi-language short videos, thus further deepening China-ASEAN cooperation.

In recent years, Liuzhou has thoroughly implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and actively explored the model of "external publicity for well-known enterprises" in the practice of strengthening international communication capacity. By enhancing the external publicity for local well-known enterprises, Liuzhou has improved its overall exposure, popularity and reputation, surpassed the limitations of prefecture-level international communication, and established a comprehensive publicity pattern. By delving into Liuzhou's culture and practices of innovative development and high-quality economic growth in the modern era, we aim to enhance the international portrayal of Liuzhou's image and that of China.
