Opening of the First Session of China-Indonesia Academic Education "1+1+1" School-Enterprise Cooperation Joint Training Program for International Students
From News Center (Text by Li Dongheng from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Photo by Wei Zheyuan from International Exchange Department) Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) celebrated the opening ceremony for its inaugural group of international students participating in the China-Indonesia Academic Education "1+1+1" School-Enterprise Cooperation Joint Training Program on August 28, 2024. The event took place at T1D-201, Guantang Campus, with guests including Indonesian Counselor Yudil Chatim, Director (Dean) of LZPU's International Exchange Department (School of International Education) Wei Linhua, Secretary of the General Party Branch Wu Kun and Associate Dean Wang Fuchun (presider) at LZPU's School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, leading teacher from Indonesia Muhammad Irfan Dzaky, representatives of teachers from the Mechatronics major, and 14 international students from Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya and Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung.
Wei Linhua congratulated the students who received scholarships from the university and cooperating enterprises, encouraging Indonesian students to overcome and respect language and cultural differences while embracing change and opportunities for a brighter future. Yudil Chatim delivered a speech online. On behalf of the Indonesian government, he expressed strong support for the program, encouraging students to seize the opportunity for their studies.
Indonesia's teacher representative Dr. Muhammad Irfan Dzaky and two international student representatives expressed their gratitude for the valuable learning opportunities afforded by the program, acknowledging the educational resources provided by LZPU. Student representatives promised to make the most of their learning opportunities and strive to learn both Chinese and mechatronics knowledge, building bridges between the cultures of the two countries.
It is understood that the China-Indonesia Academic Education "1+1+1" School-Enterprise Cooperation model is a collaborative education initiative developed within the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance, whereby students study for the first year in Indonesia, the second year in China, and intern at a Chinese-funded enterprise in their third year. LZPU has been cooperating with enterprises for educational activities, achieving significant enrollment success in this Alliance. The first group of 14 Indonesian students received pre-employment offers from two companies, Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd. and Dongguan NVT Technology Co., Ltd., which are providing scholarships to partly cover their educational expenses in China. After completing one year of Mechatronics studies at LZPU, these students will begin a six-month internship at the headquarters of their pre-employment companies in China, followed by a final internship and employment at the companies' branches in Indonesia.
This pre-employment news has sparked considerable interest among Indonesian vocational schools, with many students and educational institutions inquiring about the next enrollment time, highlighting the program's great potential and broad impact. The successful implementation of the "1+1+1" School-Enterprise Cooperation Joint Training model offers valuable learning and growth opportunities for Indonesian youth. This initiative not only represents innovative practice in LZPU's efforts to cultivate international professionals but also marks a significant breakthrough in the university's commitment to aligning education with industry and serving the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in the ASEAN region. It will provide new ideas and examples for future cooperation in vocational education between China and Indonesia, further promoting in-depth exchanges and mutual development in the field of education.
